    The Higher Professional Technical Course in Audiovisual Production enables the qualification of middle managers of enormous relevance to an industry that is currently developing and maturing, especially in larger enterprises. Main activities a) Developing creative solutions to audiovisual communication problems; b) Planning audiovisual productions as a form of expression and communication; c) Developing audiovisual productions for different media and formats; d) Managing the development phases of an audiovisual production; e) Managing and operating image recording and editing technologies; f) Managing and operating sound recording and editing technologies; g) Managing and operating video recording and editing technologies; h) Coordinating and managing work teams to develop projects. Competency benchmark Knowledge a) Comprehensive and specialised knowledge of audiovisual language; b) In-depth and specialised knowledge of photographic capture, editing and preparation; c) In-depth and specialised knowledge of sound capture, editing and assembly; d) In-depth and specialised knowledge of video capture, editing and assembly; e) Fundamental knowledge of 2D and 3D animation; f) Comprehensive and specialised knowledge of audiovisual production techniques and technologies for different formats and media; g) Comprehensive and specialised knowledge of audiovisual communication and dissemination; h) Comprehensive and specialised knowledge of audiovisual communication and dissemination,i) Comprehensive and specialised knowledge of the market and work processes in audiovisual production. Aptitudes a) Design audiovisual productions for various media and means of dissemination, suited to the intended communication; b) Design and plan creative solutions to audiovisual communication problems; c) Develop audiovisual production projects suited to the intended format and means of communication; d) Apply techniques and technologies suited to audiovisual production; e) Prepare and optimise audiovisuals for online and offline dissemination; f) Prepare, organise and evaluate multidisciplinary work teams and processes. Attitudes a) Demonstrate the ability to relate to and integrate into multidisciplinary teams; b) Demonstrate the ability to work in groups in an organised manner; c) Demonstrate willingness to constantly update knowledge and tools in the audiovisual field; d) Demonstrate autonomy to develop specific work within each of the audiovisual areas;e) Demonstrate a critical sense in solving audiovisual communication problems; f) Demonstrate the ability to present creative solutions suited to the intended communication; g) Demonstrate the ability to work in an interdisciplinary way, both in the relationship with the client and in understanding the needs of audiovisual communication; h) Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and responsibility; i) Demonstrate the ability to adapt language to the characteristics of the interlocutors.

    Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

  • Admission and entry requirements

    Hold secondary education or equivalent, which includes the subject of Portuguese; hold the M23 exams for access to the course; or hold a technological specialisation diploma, a higher professional technical diploma or a higher education degree.
