  • Course objectives

    The Master's Degree in Business Sciences aims to contribute to the development of skills associated with the daily and emerging activities of organizations in the field of Management, as well as specific skills in each of the specializations available – SME Management and Logistics Management. It is intended that the course is an important source of value for each participant and that it prepares them for high technical performance, leadership capacity and for the development and innovation of organizations.

    The Master's Degree in Business Sciences aims to provide highly specialized training along with knowledge in the field of Management that act as elements of integration and understanding of organizational complexity and the role that the various professional activities assume in the larger framework of the organization and the profession. The Master's Degree has two specializations - Logistics Management and SME Management - in order to consolidate the specific skills in these two areas. Articulating with the 1st cycle training offer, the proposed study plan points to a training nature closely supported by most of the basic structures taught in Bachelor's degree courses in the area of management and, in particular, in the courses taught at the School of Business Sciences, while allowing the continuation of studies, the deepening of skills by graduates in the areas of business sciences or related, as well as the other professionals who work.
    Organized on a semester basis, the study plan comprises two parts: the 1st part is developed in 2 Semesters, the first corresponding to general management curricular units (CUs) and the second corresponding to specialty CUs in the field of Small and Medium Enterprise Management (SME) and in the field of Logistics Management; The 2nd part (2nd year) corresponds to the development of an applied research work or internship complemented with curricular units to support research. The CUs are developed with the aim of providing the consolidation of specific skills related to SME Management and Logistics Management, based on the reinforcement of general skills in the area of business sciences that provide the integration and global perspective of the professional activities they will develop. The Master's Degree is held in a Double Degree regime with the University of Warmia and Mazury of Olsztyn (Poland).

  • Career opportunities

    Students who obtain a Master's degree in Business Sciences in the field of Logistics Management and who have professional experience in the area may apply, without the need for additional tests, for the Master-level European Logistics Certification.

  • Recognition of prior learning

    Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

  • Admission and entry requirements

    Bachelor's degree or legal equivalent;
    Holders of a foreign higher academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process;
    Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the bachelor's degree by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESCE;
    Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting the ability to carry out this cycle of studies by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESCE.
