    The Master's Degree in Information Systems Management aims to ensure the development of skills in organizational information systems associated with the ability to design, develop and implement technical processes associated with the daily activity in organizations in multidisciplinary teams with the guideline of continuous improvement, innovation and effective resolution of concrete problems, emerging in the development of the activities of organizations.

    The Master's Degree in Information Systems Management aims to ensure the training of professionals in the field of IS and business sciences, who combine a good level of management knowledge with knowledge in the area of IS design, maintenance and management, enabling the performance of leadership roles in the areas of management and IS, having as a guideline continuous improvement, innovation and the effective resolution of concrete problems, emerging from the IS in support of the development of the activities of organizations. This Master's Degree also seeks to deepen the knowledge intrinsic to the bachelor's degree both in the area of IS and in other areas of study, intending to improve professional skills and competences in terms of critical analysis and the presentation of IS solutions, through research properly framed in the needs of organizations.
    Organized on a semester basis, corresponding to 120 credits (ECTS), the study plan comprises a one-year teaching part consisting of five curricular units in each semester. The second year is intended for the development of an applied research work or internship complemented with a Seminar curricular unit in order to create a space for sharing experiences and critical reflection on the work developed and on the organization of the professional field and its ethical and deontological requirements. The curricular units are developed with the aim of providing the consolidation of specific skills in the area of organizational information systems, based on the reinforcement of general skills in the area of business sciences that provide the integration and global perspective of the professional activities they will develop.

    Master in Information Systems Management aims to ensure the training of professionals in the field of IT and business sciences, enabling the performance of leadership in the areas of management and IT, namely: Consulting and Auditing in Information Systems and Technologies; ITS management; Project Management; Coordination of Information Systems development and implementation teams.

    Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

  • Admission and entry requirements

    All those who have the following conditions, in the area of information systems and technologies and business sciences or other related areas, can apply to MGSI: a) Holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the bachelor's degree by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESCE; d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting to the ability to carry out this cycle of studies by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESCE.
