Course objectives
The Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP) in Tourism Management, in partnership between ESCE/IPS and ESE/IPS, provides ISCED (Short-cycle tertiary education) level 5 training, oriented to the labor market through the exercise of functions at the level of management processes in various types of organizations, public or private, linked to the tourism sector. The Study Plan of the course is organized on a semester basis, corresponding to 120 credits (ECTS). This comprises 2 academic years, consisting of 20 curricular units, with 3000 hours of total work. The creation of this course will enable companies in the region to incorporate new professionals and/or qualify their employees, allowing them to adopt a more professional, efficient and sustainable management.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The professional technician in Tourism Management must be able to develop the following activities: Prepare marketing plans; Operationalize the organization's commercial policy; Plan and organize events and tourist entertainment activities; Manage human resources; Budgeting tourism activities; Prepare tourist itineraries; Manage tourism operations; Carry out market studies related to tourism activity; Manage reservations through computer systems for tourism distribution; Prepare analysis reports and management support.

Career opportunities
Professional Technician in Tourism Management is responsible for planning and managing tourist activities, namely, business management, commercial and marketing operations, events and entertainment, tourist itineraries and reservations, taking into account the legislation and quality standards applicable to the sector.

Admission and entry requirements
Hold secondary education or equivalent, which includes the subject of Economics or Portuguese; holder of M23 Exams for access to the course; or holder of a technological specialisation diploma, a higher vocational technician diploma or a higher education degree
