  • Course objectives

    Sports graduates work in the field of sports, as agents promoting social, economic and cultural development, within the framework of sports science professions, in various institutional contexts, namely public and private organisations (sports service companies, sports training organisations, companies in the tourism and hotel sectors, fitness centres and local authorities), actively working with different groups and age groups of the population.

    The Sports degree aims to provide students in the fields of sports management, exercise and health, sport or related areas with differentiated professional skills to investigate and intervene using scientific evidence in the field of Sports Sciences. Students should develop knowledge and skills based on the study of specific cases from the perspective of Sports Sciences, contributing to improving the quality of life and levels of functionality of subjects in relation to the condition/objective they present, cases of analysis and optimisation of human and sports performance, or cases of development of technical aids in specific populations.

    Training of higher education professionals in Sport with appropriate qualification for technical-pedagogical intervention and as a development agent in the field of Sport Sciences, in public institutions and private organizations.

  • Recognition of prior learning

    Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

  • Admission and entry requirements

    Entrance exams Two of the following: 02 Biology and Geology 18 Portuguese or 04 Economics 18 Portuguese or 17 Social Sciences 18 Portuguese Minimum marks Application grade: 100 points Entrance exams: 95 points Calculation formula Secondary school average: 50% Entrance exams: 50% Other forms of access: - Re-entry and Change of Institution/Course Pair schemes; - Special Access Competition for Graduates from Vocational Pathways; - Special Access Competition for CTeSP holders; - Special Access Competition for Exam holders over the age of 23; - Special Access Competition for Holders of Other Higher Education Courses; - Special Competition for International Students.
