Degree objectives

The creation of the Higher Professional Technical Course in Automation, Robotics and Industrial Control was a natural consequence of the inherent needs of the many companies that make up the business fabric of the region where ESTSetúbal/IPS is located, prioritising the professional integration of graduates of this CTeSP in the areas of Automation, Robotics, Instrumentation and Industrial Control. In terms of employability, there have been no difficulties in the professional integration of graduates in the areas of teaching of this CTeSP specialisation (CNAEF code 523), with demand often exceeding the supply of graduates.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed

Develop, install and maintain automation, robotics, instrumentation and industrial control systems in order to optimise the efficiency of production processes. The main objectives of the course are: planning, supervision and implementation of installation projects, programming, commissioning and maintenance of industrial systems; use, verification and calibration of measurement and control instruments; sizing and budgeting of equipment and services; technical and commercial activities.

Recognition of prior learning

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

Admission requirements

Hold a secondary education qualification or equivalent, which includes the subject of Mathematics; hold the M23 exams for access to the course; or hold a technological specialisation diploma, a higher vocational technical diploma or a higher education degree.
