Degree objectives
Biomedical science is a rapidly expanding field with a promising future. It aims to provide engineering skills to health, sports, military and other services, offering support in areas as diverse as rehabilitation, adapted sports, high-performance sports, training methods, therapeutic methods, diagnostic methods, etc. The Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Technology (LTB) is taught at the ESTSetúbal/IPS and ESS/IPS (Higher School of Health) facilities. The high laboratory component ensures that students can apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to the specific activities of their professional profile.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The aim of this degree is to train professionals with a solid multidisciplinary background in Science and Technology, combined with components of Biology, Medicine and Health. The training takes place at the interface between humans and technology. To this end, the main skills taught in this course are in the areas of medical signal acquisition, processing and analysis; imaging; biomaterials; nanotechnologies; implantology and prosthetics; orthoprosthetics; biomedical instrumentation; telemedicine; database sizing and optimisation.
