Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The overall aim of the programme is to enable students to implement an innovative system, based on the best available scientific evidence, for the assessment and treatment of LBP, which associates specific treatment typologies with different subgroups at risk of developing persistent and disabling pain in their clinical practice contexts. Specifically, throughout the course the student will develop: - Knowledge and understanding of the factors involved in the transition from an acute episode of low back pain to a persistent and disabling condition; - Clinical skills for physiotherapy intervention typified for subgroups at high risk of developing persistent and disabling pain (user education and exercise framed in a cognitive-behavioural approach).
